Okay, so here is a few newsbites from today, 9/30/09.....


Oprah Winfrey and First Lady Michelle Obama have teamed up in Denmark to lobby the IOC to have Chicago host the 2016 Olympics. It is like a real life "super-friends"!! I smell a comic book! These two super women could take on villains like: the recession, global warming, and texting while driving!! 


A semi tipped over earlier today on I-15 causing delays and an all around mess. It was full of chocolate. Hershey's chocolate. Serious. I saw it on the news. Hershey Highway. Enough said.


GM announced today that it will shut down Saturn units after talks have failed to have a foreign auto maker buy them out. I thought they just shut down Saturn because they made Saturn cars.  

WEAVE ME ALONE

So I had the TV on today and Oprah popped up. Good thing, I needed a good estrogen fix. Chris Rock was her guest and he has made a documentary about hair. Black women's hair,  white women's hair, they are all getting weaves and wigs and die jobs. I know I have worn my share of weaves. All the white women want blonde hair. Most black women use relaxers or a weave. It is a billion dollar industry!! They showed one salon that even had a layaway plan for wigs and weaves!! A layaway plan!! It reminded me of this fabulous woman I stood behind at Disneyland once. I wonder how much this weave cost her? Woops! How did I know she had a weave??

NICE PINS!!!!!

Over the summer various children do various activities. I am lucky enough to live with 2 of my nieces and a nephew that are all under the age of 8. They decided to join a bowling league for the summer. Every friday they would go down the street to"throw the ball to hit the pins." 
Anson, my nephew, who is 4, ended up down the alley a few times on accident. He must take after his uncle. 
My purpose of this post is to show you the lovely, winning, triumphant trophy that ALL of the children got to take home and put on their various mantles and bookshelves at the end of summer. Am I the only one who sees hilarity here??! I know it is supposed to be a bowling ball and pins, but, it looks like a fat lady got stuck in a garbage disposal! Her legs are straight up in the air and we can see her lower belly! I would never, ever tell these kids. They are so darn proud of their bowling trophies! I see these "ladies" everyday and I have to snicker, I have even tipped all three of them upside down and made them "walk." Hey, it's fun to play!
 I think the design of this baby was done on purpose, what do you think???? What's that old saying, "It ain't over 'till the fat lady sings?" Well now "It ain't over until the fat lady is made of plastic, turned upside down, and comes home with you as a souvenir."

TOM DELAY-ED

Did anyone see Dancing with the Stars last night? I did not. I think in order to call it "Dancing with the Stars" you need to put "Stars" on the show. But, we won't get into that right now. (sorry Donny) I want to discuss poor Tom Delay and Cheryl Burke. He almost dropped that poor lady! I saw the video of it today and I just laughed and laughed, because he dances like he does politics, he stumbles!! Could he not hold poor Cheryl up? Is that girl heavy? When they say that they are going to hit the floor, old Tommy Boy takes them serious! He could have killed that girl. That would have been worse than the "Marie-Osmond-please-vote-for-me-faint"!!! With moments that Tommy Boy and Marie Baby are giving, maybe I will have to start tuning into "Dancing with the Supposed to be Famous"......

Ok Folks, it has been almost a decade since I updated this glorious thing. I appreciate all the concern. Get ready for a facelift on the blog and a few more ways for the public (that's you!) to leave feedback and get involved. I am also getting new promo pics taken for this and my upcoming comedy album. Wish me luck! Hopefully there will be lots of airbrushing. With any luck I will look like Jack Black or Whoopi Goldberg. Until then.....
